Ernest Oberholtzer
Oberholtzer traveled extensively by canoe exploring the Northern Minnesota, Manitoba and the Northwestern Territories lake systems. A founding member of The Wilderness Society, he was instrumental in establishing the Superior National Forest, now home to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
